Year 1 Rabbits

 

Reading

 

We will be developing skills in inference and prediction, sequencing and summarizing as well as consolidating other skills. Phonics will take place daily.

Writing

 

We will be writing to advise, a description and poetry using tests about the desert and The House with Chicken Legs. Writing will take place during phonics sessions linked with the book they are reading. All pupils will also have daily sessions for writing, focusing in building and writing sentences.

Maths

 

We will be developing our learning in number and place value followed by addition and subtraction.

Science

 

We will be continuing our learning on reversible and irreversible changes before moving onto learning about the human body and how the seasons change.

Geography/ History

 

In History Geography we will be asking the question, what is my history? 

Art/DT

 

In DT we will be constructing windmills. Art we will be creating portraits using painting and mixed media.

Music

 

We will explore keeping the pulse together through music and movement, by exploring their favourite things. 

PHSE

 

We will be thinking about changes and investigating being me in my world as well as our value of resilience. We will also continue to look at different articles for Rights Respecting Schools.

Computing

 

This term we will be using video as a media format and will then have lots of opportunities to capture videos and learn about different camera angles and filming techniques.

RE

 

We will be learning about God and Faith across religions through the lens of ways of knowing how Christians decide to live.

PE

 

This half term we will be developing skills in sending and receiving and ball chasing, and  5M will continue their swimming lessons.

French

 

We will be learning how to speak about the solar system in French.
